There is mounting evidence the earth’s climate has started to change. There are disagreements as to the cause; however we believe the trend toward a climate that is dryer and hotter is indisputable. Prehistorically the earth has experienced shifts in climate, some of which were the result of catastrophic changes. These changes altered the environment that supported the current forms of life that existed at the time. As we have seen with the existence of dinosaurs, life as it was did not continue into the new age that followed. Based on that evidence, any assumption that things will continue as they always have is one not based on the facts. Contrary to that misinterpretation of the data, we believe that our planet may be experiencing the early stages of such a climate shift. While the changes seem gradual, the impacts on weather patterns and sea life migrations are evident.
As Christians we believe that God exists and he has made himself known in history through messengers he has inspired through his spirit. Man being sinful by nature became separated from God and that required faith in the atoning blood sacrifice of Jesus the Christ, to bring us before him as adopted children. While the collection of books in the Bible, may not be all the inspired writings meant for our edification. We believe they are without error and meant for our understanding in their original semantic meaning.
As Children of the Living God, we are offered promises in scripture that can be claimed. One such promise is found in Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In All thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.’ In my life I wandered down many paths, most of which led to a dead end. But I remembered this promise and it was like a compass to me. It always seemed to point me back to God’s love and mercy, in spite of the depth of my depravity. He was often wroth with me as a father with his children, but he was always there for me.
There are also conditional covenants in the bible. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31) This simple conditional covenant says that if you believe ON the Lord Jesus Christ then you will be saved. Simple, you do something, then God does something back because he keeps his promises and his covenants. One such conditional covenant in the Old Testament, we at Theorca.org believe holds promise for our organization’s mission. You may call it our secret sauce, an ace in the hole or that algorithm that gives our process an advantage. It is recorded in the book of Isaiah Chapter 58: 6-14. Granted, it’s a rather complex conditional covenant. But God promises that if we satisfy the hungry and the afflicted soul he will bless our efforts as a Christian Nonprofit organization. Theorca.org is founded on the belief that we claim this covenant as our beacon to guide us through the years. This is therefore the reason we choose to define “those in need” in our incorporation documents as those outlined in this section of scripture. We especially like the promise of verse 11 where God says, “The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones, and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.” At this time in humanities history, we find hope in this promise that we can mitigate the impacts of environmental stress on the lives of those suffering.
As we set out on our mission to desalinate seawater and help those in need as a demonstration of God’s love through Christ. We ask that you pray God will provide us continual guidance and direction as we set out on this quest. We seek only to bring honor, glory and praise to His holy name and as a channel of his peace, be a blessing to those we serve.
